Trouble could be on the horizon for users of Compatible Epson Cartridges

There's news today that Epson has started proccedings in the High Court against Dynamic Cassette International Ltd, the people behind JetTec cartridges for alleged infringements to Epson's patents surrounding inkjet cartridges.

Epson have been aggressive in following up alleged patent issues, in a bid to protect its lucrative cartridge sales within the inkjet market and to scare off potential 3rd party companies from producing compatible Epson cartridges to fit their printers.

The company spent three years persuing Medea Ltd who distribute cartridges under the Inkrite brand, between 2007 and 2010, which resulted in an out of court settlement and Medea withdrawing their compatible Epson products under the Inkrite and JR Inkjet brands.
